"Finish: persistent; Closely knit, showing typical old-world character, the wine opened up as it breathed. Finely textured tannins and good finish. Overall, it tends more towards elegance than power. Quality winemaking is evident."

"Professional Reviews
By Josh Raynolds
Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar, Jan/Feb 08
Rated: 91
Deep red. Explosive aromas of vibrant strawberry, raspberry and kirsch, with a subtle licorice undertone. Brisk red fruit flavors are seductively sweet and nicely framed by velvety tannins. Finishes with very persistent red fruits and gentle, sappy grip. "I don't think that I'm trying to make the greatest Saint-Joseph," Chave said, "but I am trying to be true to what is Saint-Joseph." He then reiterated that his model is the wines of the retired Raymond Trollat.
