Ian Dorin and I were in Bordeaux earlier this year and stumbled on a wine that rocked our socks, came from one of the great vintages of all time, had some age to it so it drank like silk and was under $20! We knew we just found ourselves a winner! This wine is 70% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc and 10 % Cabernet Sauvignon and brings the magic of the 2000 vintage to every sip! I was blown away by the complexities and this wine reminds me of most $30-$50 wines from the vintage! A HOME RUN!""

3.5 stars "Color: dark; Nose: fragrant; Aromas: mineral; Acidity: crisp; Sweetness: dry; Body: medium-bodied; Finish: persistent; Overall: bold; Still slightly tannin for a 2001. Has an alcohol edge both of which will help it to reach through 2012. Fruit is mellow. Tasted vanilla, a little barnyard. " Best 2009-2012

2 stars "Creamy red fruit on the palate and nose. Good fruit weight, velvety texture, tannins a touch dry on the finish. Drink 2009-2015. (14.5 points)" Best 2009-2015
