"The 2006 Zinfandel Old Vines, which is a blend of old-vine parcels that are too small to be sold as single-vineyards, has a deeper ruby color, with hints of roasted herbs, pepper, nori (seaweed wrapper) intermixed with black cherry, raspberry, plum, and some spice. It is a fleshy wine with loads of fruit, medium to full body, and a supple texture. (88-90)"

"Young and untamed, but gutsy. Bold aromas of huckleberry, smoky meat and sage lead to dense tar, blackberry and cracked pepper that finish with chewy, slightly herbal tannins."
