94 points "Medium body, vibrant crimson mauve purple colour with mauve purple hue. Perfumed nose with top note of fresh raspberry, violets, liquorice and spice. Mouthfilling palate – with generous flavours of raspberry, plum and spice over a cherry background. Fine grained tannins. Long aftertaste of vanilla, raspberry, cherry and spice. "From the Ebenezer sub-region of the Barossa. Bright, purplish black cherry. Intense and aromatic black and red fruit on the nose, with just a hint of mocha. Deliciously restrained, spicy freshness that lifts the fresh tangy dark fruit. Very fluid and palate-cleansing. Tight, ripe fresh tannins. Wonderfully drinkable, with surprising lightness of touch, the high alcohol barely noticeable. Long fresh finish"

Silky and sweet, with deep red berry preserve flavors, fully absorbed tannins and good bite. Leaves an exotic candied licorice note behind on the vibrant, juicy finish, which strongly repeats the red berry tone"

"Barossa reds in heavy bottles with snappy labels cost plenty, right? And one glass is enough, right? No on both counts with this wine from Ben Glaetzer. It’s generous and juicy with rich berry and spice characters, smooth flavour and texture, excellent persistence and soft, friendly tannins."

91 points "Lipsmacking style. Sandy , meaty, elegant expression of the blend, the smells of pan juices and dark cherries mingly in with blackberry and toast. It’s swish and smooth through the mid-palate, then chewy, almost tough on the finish, the presentation of the flavour and tannin forever fresh."

4 stars "Ben Glaetzer is a Roseworthy College graduate and the son of Colin Glaetzer, who founded the winery. Ben’s philosophy parallels that of his father—making terroir-driven wines with minimal intervention. The name of the label, Wallace, is the ancestral name of Colin’s wife, Judith, who also happens to be a winemaker. With 70% Shiraz and 30% Grenache in the blend, there are pronounced aromas of vanilla, mint, eucalyptus, cherry, raspberry, cassis and liquorice on the nose. Dry and full bodied, the sweet fruit overflows onto the palate, with smooth tannins, high alcohol and moderate acidity."
