"Medium-deep red. Complex scents of currant, chocolate, marzipan, lead pencil and spicy oak. Juicy but rather reticent today, and not currently showing its flesh. Best today on the long, firmly tannic finish. But the '97 version of this wine is at least as concentrated, and perhaps broader and sweeter.

"Color: evolved; The wine had thrown considerable sediment; brown/brick color. Was very closed in. Initially tasted mainly of wood. However, to our surprise, after 4 days in the refrigerator, the wine opened up and was quite pleasant."
