Tasting Notes:
rated: September 13, 2008 , Wine Spectator
95 points "Wine Spectator Big, rich, round and plush. A plump mouthful of plum, blueberry, cream and spice flavors that pull together and finish with a bit of elegance, seduction and charm. Has great power and depth, but this keeps it all in balance so it doesn't hit you hard. Best from 2010 through 2020. 1,500 cases made. Score: 95. —Harvey Steiman, 2008." Best 2010-2020
rated: September 13, 2008 , The Wine Advocate
91 points "Wine Advocate The 2005 Shiraz “Expatriate” was tasted from a barrel sample. It is dense crimson/purple in color with a brooding nose of mineral, leather, spice box, blueberry, and blackberry liqueur. This is followed by a full-bodied, voluptuous wine with layered, thick, intense flavors, well-concealed tannins, and a very long finish. Give it 5-7 years to blossom and drink it through 2025. Score range: 91-94. Score: 94. —Jay Miller, October 2007."
