"Bordeaux style blend's pedigree confirmed at 2004 vertical tasting of 1990 onward. 2002 from a 'year of firsts' - first full vintage for winemaker Louis Nel, first full harvest for vinegrower Ronald Spies, first use of sorting tables to raise bar on fruit quality. Higher than usual merlot/cab franc content (30/28) and lower alc (14%) offer more diverse flavours than previous. Cellaring will soften oak."
