5 stars "Color: deep; Nose: discreet; Aromas: spicy; Acidity: supple; Sweetness: dry; Body: full-bodied; Finish: persistent; Overall: rich; A deeply coloured Pinot Noir with a surprisingly subtle nose. Not a lot of bouquet until this wine had quite some in the glass. It didn’t carry the pugnacious fruited notes that rip off the glass when tasting the majority of New Zealand Pinot’s. Notes of the true grape without a lot of other aromas coming off the glass, the nose clean and very gentle. The flavour in this wine is spectacular, not over-fruited, deep, full round flavours, with subtle notes of plum, wet tobacco and a hint of treacle letting through underlying sweetness. A complex wine with soft tannins, the flavours running lusciously deep. Well worth the money – a favourite especially in the autumn – fantastic well worth seeking out." Best 2009-
