"The exceptional 2002 Shiraz Single Wire (from 90-year-old vines) reveals notes of barbecue smoke interwoven with melted chocolate, mint, acacia flowers, and copious quantities of blackberries and cassis. This superb, full-bodied, fleshy, classic South Australian Shiraz is hard to resist. It should drink well for a decade.” - Robert Parker Jr., The Wine Advocate (Issue 161), 94 pts
This wine made last year’s Decanter Magazine Top 100, a great showing for such a young winery.
"Low yielding 90 year old vines from the Eden Valley make up 80% of the blend. With an opaque purple-red colour, this is a wine of huge concentration. It shows an intense nose of berry and black fruits with a taut spicy edge and some background tarriness, together with a bit of chocolatey character. The palate is massively concentrated with firm, spicy tannins and high acidity (there’s a lemony, almost salty tang on the finish)."
