"The 2003 GSM Heinrich (60% Shiraz, 25% Mourvedre, and 15% Grenache aged in a combination of American and French oak) boasts a knock-out nose of garrigue/Provencal herbs, licorice, black cherries, and blackberries. With medium to full body, great fruit, surprising elegance as well as equilibrium, and a long, heady finish, it should drink well for 5-7 years. Think of it as Rolf Binder’s interpretation of Chateauneuf du Pape.
Note: These wines were formerly sold under the Veritas name, but because of trademark problems, Rolf Binder is in the process of changing his wines’ labels. In addition, the Veritas Pressings is now called Hubris, the Christa Rolf Shiraz/Grenache is now Halliwell, and the Crista Rolf Shiraz is now the Hales Shiraz.
From one of Australia’s finest winemakers, this wine stood out brilliantly for its precision, richness, complexity, and ageworthiness. In addition, some very good bargains are available from this talented producer."
