4 stars "Restrained, dark fruit but deep and profound. Plenty of rich extract and firm, ripe tannins. Has an innate quality and reserve. Drink 2010-2020. (17.5 points)" Best 2010-2020

89 points "89-91 points Wine Spectator: "Blackberry and licorice aromas follow through to a full-bodied palate, with lovely fruit and a chocolaty finish. Delicious. Lovely." (06/06) 88-89 points Robert Parker: "This is the finest effort I have yet tasted from the former director of Mouton Rothschild, proprietor Patrick Leon. A blend of 84% Merlot and 16% Cabernet Franc, the 2005 Les Trois Croix oozes sweet black cherry and currant fruit from its projected bouquet. Displaying excellent purity, medium body, and a Pinot Noir-like elegant, savory character, it should drink well for a decade." (04/06) 87-90 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Good full ruby. Sexy dark fruits, leather, smoked meat and earth on the nose. Silky and suave in the mouth, with good chewy depth of fruit. Layered, sweet and interesting. Finishes with sweet tannins and very good length. An excellent showing for this Fronsac property owned by the family of ex-Mouton Rothschild winemaker Patrick Leon."
