"Abrigo’s 2006 Barbaresco Montersino is a dark, powerful offering loaded with black cherries, spices, smoke, tar and licorice, all of which are wrapped around an imposing frame. Today the tannins lack a measure of polish, but that should come with further bottle age. Anticipated maturity: 2011-2021. Wine Spectator 91 pts: Sweet strawberry and cherry aromas, with hints of vanilla cream. Full-bodied, with ripe, soft, round tannins and outstanding depth of fruit.
