"Color: pale; Vineyard Character: This site is situated just west of Sebastopol on an east facing ridge top exposed to the cool marine air from the Pacific. Impeccably farmed by the Martinelli family, the Dijon clone 115 vines are planted on very well drained Goldridge sandy loam soils.
Tasting Notes: 2005 Burnside Vineyard – Russian River Pinot Noir exhibits aromas of rhubarb pie, raspberries, with hints of mocha, leather and warm spices. Flavors of dark plum and cherry, clove and cola intermingle with supple and silky tannins.
Winemaking: 100% Pinot Noir fruit; Whole cluster pressed; Multi-yeast fermentations (wild & cultured); Sur lie aged with weekly stirring; 100% malo-lactic fermentation in barrel; 70% new Burgundian French oak barrels; Bottled without fining or filtration
