96 points "The 2007 Barolo Pajana is a showstopper. Waves of intense, beautifully delineated fruit flow onto the palate as the wine opens up in the glass. Sumptuous and elegant through and through, the Pajana shows marvelous delineation and clean, minerally notes that underpin the opulence of the fruit. This is a marvelous, totally complete Pajana of the highest level. " Best 2017-2032

95 points "The 2005 Barolo Pajana is off the charts. This deeply scented, layered Barolo possesses a striking bouquet of spices, tobacco, graphite, dark cherries and new leather that come together in a breathtaking display of elegance and power that is hard to fully capture in words. The tannins are, as usual, quite broad but they are also remarkably fine. In 2005 the Pajana shows breathtaking balance and harmony with a long, sensual finish. This is a superb effort from Domenico Clerico, and his team led by the mega-talented Massimo Conterno. Anticipated maturity: 2015-2025. " Best 2015-2025

95 points "95 points Wine Spectator: "Aromas of blackberry, plum skin and hints of cut wood. Full-bodied, chewy and very rich, with lots of tannins, French oak and fruit. This is dense and concentrated. Layered. Needs time. Best after 2012." (06/08) 94 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Clerico's 2004 Barolo Pajana is an explosive wine loaded with layers of deeply spiced dark fruit. It is a notably pure, focused version of this wine that is totally compelling for its overall balance. The south-facing Pajana vineyard tends to give a more fruit-driven style of Barolo but the 2004 is a beautifully complete wine. Anticipated maturity: 2011-2024." (12/07) 93 points Stephen Tanzer: "Deep, saturated red. Wonderfully deep aromas of raspberry, plum, mocha, caramel and graphite, with a primary grapey character. Lush, sweet and remarkably deep, with penetrating, powerful flavors of raspberry, currant, minerals and chocolate and explosive inner-mouth perfume. Complicating notes of smoke and truffle. A very rich yet elegant example of the 2004 vintage, finishing with sweet tannins and excellent thrust. Pajana is a south-facing vineyard planted on sandy soil, and is normally picked before Ginestra." "
