The 2005 Martyr, a 120-case blend of 68% Mourvedre and the rest Syrah and Grenache, is Trevisan’s version of a Bandol. Its deep blue/purple color is followed by pure notes of blueberries, raspberries, crushed rocks, and background oak and earth. This powerful (15.6% alcohol), moderately tannic beauty will benefit from another 1-2 years of bottle age, and should drink well for 10-12 years. "
