"An excellent vintage in California, this 2001 Aeciero Merlot has intense fruit, distinguished varietal character and a lush mouthfeel. Ripe aromas of berry and plum, with herval nots of peppermint and bay leaf lead to spicy, full-bodied flavors of cherry and chocolate. Serve with any beef or lamb dish, or with a chocolate cheedse-cake for dessert. Drinkable not, it will age nicely for up to five years."
