82 points "An exuberant red, with a lush texture. Ripe plum flavors float over soft tannins and light toasty notes. It's generous but simple. Tempranillo, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah and Mazuelo. Drink now through 2004. 5,000 cases made. (TM)" Best 2003-2004

90 points "The 2001 Finca La Estacada Seleccion Varietal, a blend of 45% Tempranillo, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Merlot, 15% Syrah, and 5% Manzuelo, is a real steal. A modern-styled, beautifully made effort aged 18 months in French and American oak, it exhibits a deep ruby/purple color along with a rich bouquet of red and black fruits intertwined with licorice and toasty new oak. Medium to full-bodied, with loads of fruit, a supple texture, and a long finish, this elegant 2001 will drink well for 5-6 years. This Spanish red is a good value." Best 2004-2010
