93 points "The 2009 Zinfandel Carlisle Vineyard (93% Zinfandel and 7% mixed blacks) is equal to the Montafi and just a notch behind the prodigious Monte Rosso. A sexy, heady wine, its dark plum/purple color is followed by a big, sweet kiss of blueberries, blackberries, wild, briery, mountain berries, spice box, pepper, roasted herb and forest floor. This chewy, thick, rich beauty will drink well for 7-8 years. " Best 2011-2019

94 points " By Josh Raynolds Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar, May/June '11 Opaque violet. Room-filling aromas of blackberry, mulberry, Moroccan spices and incense. Then wonderfully bright and sappy in the mouth, with lively acidity giving shape and lift to the intense flavors of dark berries, candied flowers and spicecake. I find this wine utterly hypnotic. Finishes with superb spicy persistence and serious power. Officer told me that 7% of the grapes used for this wine were alicante bouschet, grand noir, petite sirah, peloursin, tempranillo and various other mixed blacks. 94 points"
