"was very nice - with a rack of NZ venison. Seemed fitting and the bottle finished far too quickly! Not sure I have another bottle."

94 points "Plunkett wines became Plunkett-Fowles became Fowles Wine - just to keep you up with where things are at with this notable Strathbogie Ranges producer. This wine still carries the Plunkett-Fowles logo on the back label but the Fowles family are now sole owners. What matters most, of course, is the wine inside the bottle. This 2010 Shiraz is a beauty. Quite stunning. Loaded with black pepper and black cherry-plum with swish, cedary, polished French oak as a smooth-skinned veneer. Opens up beautifully given time in the glass but it's pretty good straight out of the blocks anyway. It's grown on vines that were, at the time of this vintage, 10-15 years old and they sure look as though they've hit their straps. Delicious wine. Violetty overtones. Top notch" Best 2016-2023
