Tasting Notes:
tasted: March 16, 2013 , Lena Lamel
91 points " Fragrant nose, lovely cherry/currant/rhubarb midpalate with a decent finish and good acidity/silky tannins to balance. What else could you want? "
rated: January 16, 2014 , Wine Spectator
92 points "The sweet black cherry, blackberry and spice flavors highlight this powerful, polished red. The fruit, earth and spice notes prevail as the tannic grip emerges on the finish. J. Suckling -- 92pts Dried fruits with hints of pepper and dark chocolate on the nose. Full and chewy yet balanced and delicious. Wine Access -- "(aged for two years in small oak casks before bottling) Deep ruby to the edge with dark, brooding aromas of crushed red fruits, black cherry preserves, underbrush and classic pine needles. The attack is broad, full-bodied and mouth filling. Rich and plush, velour-like in texture, this is a STUNNING Riserva, a bottle that outpoints all too many baseline Brunelli. Drink now — after two hours in an open carafe — or age for up to a decade in a cool cellar." Best 2014-2022
