"For the most part, J's new 2009 Pinots are wines of solidity and structure more than of ready ripeness and flamboyant fruit, yet the best of them show good concentration and are fixed, as is the case here, on well-defined varietal cherries. This particular bottling shows some youthful angularity and toughness at the very end, but it is as deep and well-filled at the finish as it is at the start, and it has all the signs of a wine that will grow for at least another four or five years."
